The Works of a Chaplain
Pastor Chaplain Peggy Flood
Hospital chaplains provide spiritual guidance and pastoral care to patients and their families. They may also offer grief counseling and support to survivors of trauma, victims of crime, and those with mental health crises.
Schools Chaplains may offer presentations, reflections, and one-on-one conversations to help students understand Christ's teachings. They may also lead retreats where students can pray, play, and converse.
Workplace chaplains may provide employee assistance, counseling services, wellness seminars, conflict management, and mediation. They may also serve on a death and serious injury notification team for employees who die or are injured on the job.
Military Chaplains may conduct worship services, perform religious ceremonies, and support combat stress. They may also accompany service members into combat.
Chaplains use insights from psychology, religion, spirituality, and theology to support people of all faiths and cultures. They customize their approach based on the individual's needs.

In our complex society, biblical counseling offers a strong foundation for healing, change, and spiritual growth. Counseling in Time of Crisis
Crisis intervention counseling, often lasting only a few weeks, utilizes unique intervention techniques drawn from psychotherapy. These methods not only offer emotional support to clients, but also work to reduce their stress and equip them with important coping strategies.
Marriage and Family Counseling
Marriage and family counseling is specialized in focusing on helping a person find solutions to current issues. that addresses the behaviors of family members and the way these behaviors affect not only individual family members but also relationships within the family and the family unit as a whole.
Counseling for Substance and Addiction
Substance abuse counseling is a powerful blend of treatment and support designed to empower individuals in their journey to break free from the grip of drug or alcohol addiction. This specialized form of counseling plays a fundamental role in rehabilitation programs, providing clients with the tools to conquer substance dependence and reclaim their mental and emotional well-being.
Counseling for Family Violence and Abuse

Premarital Course
Dr. Threets is amazing. She’s a fun and well-spoken teacher. She has a ton of experience in this field to advise those planning on getting married. Things that haven’t been brought up will most likely get brought up, which is a great thing! She asked great questions that made it engaging and wasn’t just a PowerPoint slide. We left that meeting with a better understanding of how God views marriage and the covenant between husband and wife. Physically, spiritually, and emotionally.
Thank God she was referred to us and I’ll be happy to refer anyone in my circle of friends to her before making the BIGGEST decision of our life.

They cater to individuals with different religious beliefs or none at all. The primary focus of chaplains is to offer emotional and spiritual guidance to those who seek it.
Thank you for your interest in Florida Theological Chaplaincy Academy (FTCA). Our mission is to ordain individuals who feel the call to serve in ministry. FTCA is a non-traditional continuing education academy with a Bible-based program that aims to enhance students' understanding of God's truth. Our customized programs of study cater to the particular needs of individuals, ministers, and leaders.
